[8일차] "알다"의 9가지 유형(중요)

1. know(알고있는 상태에 대해서 / Fact에 대한 알고 모르고를 의미)

I know the way there

I know his phone number.

I don't know why there are so many people there

 

2. Understand (심경에 대해 이해하다)

I understand how you feel(당신이 어떤 마음인지 이해해요)

I understand why she did that but I don't agree with her decision

I don't understand what it means(무슨의미인지 이해가 안되요)

 

3. find out & figure out

(~을 알게 되다/ 모르는상태에서 아는상태로 넘어가는 것)

난 그걸 어제 알았어요 - 원래는 몰랐지만 이제 알게 된 것. know / understand (x)

I got to know 같은 표현은 없다.

I found out about that yesterday

 

I figured out how to use it (어떻게 사용하는지 알았어 )

I figured out how to get there

I figured out how set up the alarm

 

둘다 모르는 상태에서 아는 상태로 넘어 가는 것인데. 

find out은 어떤 사실이나 정보를 몰랐는데 알게 되는 것이고

figure out은 작동방법이나 해결책에 대해서 알게 되는 것. 

 

4. realize( 문제가 뭔지 알았을 때 )

I finally realized what the problem was

I finally found out(?) what the problem was.

 

5. notice(알아차리다 / 변화된 것을 catch하다)

notify : 이게 알리다. (n. notification)

I saw my friend at school today and I noticed (that) she had gotten a haircut

( 오늘 내 친구를 학교에서 봤는데, 머리를 잘랐더라구)

 

변화 과정을 말하는것에서 find out, figure out, realize와 비슷해보인다..

 

She came out with a new album, and I noticed (that) her style had changed a little bit.

머리스타일이 좀 바뀌었더라 ( 변화를 알아차림 )

I ran into my friend on the street this morning, and I noticed she looked a little different

 

6. recognize((뭔가 보고)뭔지 알다. 누군지 알다.)

This morning, someone said hello to me on the street, but i didn't recognize him.

She looked very familiar, but I couldn't recognize her.

 

notice : 특이점, 변화점을 catch 하는 것. 

recognize : 무언가를 보고 뭔지 아는 것.

 

 

 

If you saw your boyfriend's handwriting, would you recognize it? (recognize를 대신할 말이 없음)

남자친구 손글씨를 보면 알아보겠어요 ?

 

7. be aware of(존재 여부에 대해서 알았을 때)

정책이 있는지조차 모르는 상황에서

I wasn't aware of that policy

They were aware of the rules.

정책 / 규칙이 있었다 라는 것 자체를 인지하고 있는 상태.

They were not aware of the situation at the time ( 그 상황이 발생했는지 안했는지 , 그 상황 존재여부를 모름 )

8. be familiar with(숙지하고있는 상태, 잘 아는상태)

know well은 보통 사람을 잘 알때 쓰는거고

어떤 상황이나 어떤 것에 대해서 잘 알 때는 be familiar with

I'm not very familiar with this topic.

9. tell?? (판단하다)

해석을 하다보면 알다로 해석되는 경우가 많음

I can't tell what it says.

( 뭐라고 하는지 모르겠어, 지식에 대한 얘기가 아니라 뭐라고 쓰여져있는지 모르겠어서 판단이 안된다. )

I can't tell the difference.

Can you tell what this is? (뭔지 알겠어 ?)

 

realize 와 notice의 차이

realize는 머릿속에서 발생하는 것임.

notice 는 외부와의 접촉에 의해서 생기는 일.
